Tsavo Females

The database includes 307 adult females and their offspring: named with photographic and sighting data. 282 families, 42 bond groups and three main clans. 248 of these families have been monitored for more than a decade. Five of these families move between the National Park and private land. Tsavo females have a 5-6 year calving interval and produce proportionally more males than female calves. We monitor trends in family size, age-sex structure, offspring: births, sex and survival, seasonal core areas, habitat use and mortality.
