Tsavo Bulls

The database of bulls includes 454 independent bulls: named with photographic and sighting data. 285 of these bulls have been monitored for more than a decade. Fourteen of these bulls move between the National Park and private land. Tsavo bulls tend to aggregate in large bull only groups; more than 10 bulls associate in one coordinated group. They establish bonds with other bulls and have favoured bull areas. Data are collected on age at independence, musth cycles, group size, bonds between bulls, social association with families, seasonal choice of habitat, bull areas range and mortality.
